GRAND PRIX BID WHIST - 2009 RULES / FORMAT

There is a Door Entry Friday night "Special" Four Round Tournament, starting at 8:00 PM (with Registration from 6:30 - 7:30 PM.) The entry fee is $30 / player . Prizes will based on the # of entries, with a GUARANTEE of $500 for First place.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP - MAIN EVENT ---SATURDAY, NOV. 7 - 10:00 A.M. start
Note: Registration for the Main Event is from 8:30 - 9:45 AM Saturday morning. The entry fee is $80 / Player and that INCLUDES a free Lunch. There is a GUARANTEED $3,000 Minimum Prize Fund (FIRST PLACE) PLUS additional cash Prizes to be A final review of the Rules and Format will be presented prior to the start of the event.
The Main Event consists of SIX 4 - Hand Rounds, and a Playoff for the top 16 Teams. W - L records, with a tie breaker of total points, to be used to determine playoff Teams. Teams will be seeded. The Playoffs will consist of FOUR Rounds of four hands each, and the winners will be determined by their Playoff W - L records. Bid Screens (blinds) will be used at all Playoff Tables. Please note that the World Series of Bid Whist does not use a single elimination format in its Playoffs. In the unlikely event that more than ONE Team has a 4 - 0 Playoff record, an additional Round between the undefeated Teams will be played in order to determine the Champion .
Round 1 of the Main Event starts Promptly at 10:00 AM. No exceptions, please!
There will be a lunch break for all players from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM , followed the remainder of the preliminary Rounds.

Registration TBA - $30 Entry Fee - Payouts based on # of entries.
